Komodo Honeymoon Yacht: Your Floating Penthouse for Two
A honeymoon should feel like the world has stepped back for a while. On ALEXA, it does.
She is a 31m traditional phinisi with just one cabin, so the only guests on board are the two of you. There are no other couples at dinner, no shared tender and no timetable but your own. Think of her as Your Floating Penthouse, sailing from Labuan Bajo into Komodo National Park.
Enquire NowA Honeymoon Yacht With One Couple On Board
Most yachts in Komodo are built for groups. ALEXA was built around a couple. Since 2013 she has sailed these waters as a private yacht, and the whole boat is laid out for two: one cabin with an en suite bathroom and a private balcony, a living and dining room, a TV lounge with a 7.8 Audio Zone, a lounge and library, and open decks from bow to stern.
Because there is just one cabin, every space on board is yours. You can take breakfast on the upper deck, read in the library through the heat of the afternoon and watch the sunset from the sunbeds without ever meeting another guest. Nothing is booked around anyone else’s plans.
Eight crew look after you, from the captain and cruise director to your private chef, your dive instructor and a second engineer. They are close by when you want them and out of sight when you don’t. You decide when to wake, where to swim and how long to stay at an anchorage. That freedom, more than any single feature, is what couples remember.

Romantic Moments, Arranged Around You
A Komodo honeymoon cruise on ALEXA has no fixed programme. Before you arrive, your cruise director asks what you love, what you are celebrating and how you like to spend a day. On board, each day is planned with you, and changed as often as you like.
Some couples fill every day with diving, island walks and beaches. Others barely leave the sunbeds. Most find a rhythm somewhere in between. These are the moments couples ask for most.
Beach dinners
When the day cools, the crew sets a table on a quiet beach, with lanterns, fine linen and the sound of the water. Your chef cooks and serves, and the crew steps back as soon as dinner is on the table. Some evenings it is a candlelit dinner for two, others a seafood barbecue on the sand.

Breakfast on deck
Mornings start with a Michelin-style breakfast, prepared by your private chef and served on deck while you’re at anchor. Each plate is cooked for you, so there is no buffet and no set time. Take it slowly, with the bay to yourselves, before deciding what the day holds.

Spa and yoga on board
Treatments are designed around you and given on board, whenever suits your day. Greet the sunrise with yoga on deck, or unwind with a sunset massage as the breeze comes off the water. It is the easiest way to slow down to island time.

A private chef
Your private chef creates Michelin-style menus built around what you love, cooked with fresh local ingredients. Tell us about favourite dishes, allergies or anything you would rather avoid, and every meal is planned around it. Fine wines and premium spirits are always ready to be served.

Proposals and vow moments
If you are planning a proposal, a vow renewal or a private celebration, tell us what you have in mind. Your cruise director arranges the setting, the timing and the small details, and keeps it quiet until the moment comes. All you need to do is be there.

Sleeping under the stars
The upper deck has an Under The Stars sleeping area for nights when the sky is too good to miss. Far from city lights, the stars over Komodo feel close enough to touch. Fall asleep in the open air and wake to the first light on the water.

Diving and Learning Together
Komodo’s waters are made for exploring as a couple. You can swim alongside manta rays, drift over coral gardens and snorkel straight from the yacht, with no group to keep up with and no schedule but yours.
ALEXA’s dive instructor can certify you on board, so you can learn together in calm water with no one else in the class. Lessons fit around the rest of your day, and you move on at your own pace, from your first breath underwater to your first proper dive.
If you already dive, your instructor knows the finest sites, the best times to visit them and nearly every creature you will meet. Top-end diving equipment is always on board, along with an underwater camera so you can bring the reef home with you. If you would rather snorkel, the reefs start a few strokes from the swim platform.

Where Your Honeymoon Cruise Sails
Most ALEXA voyages start in Labuan Bajo, a short flight from Bali, and sail Komodo National Park. Think pink sand beaches, Padar at sunrise, manta rays and the Komodo dragons. Your cruise director arranges dragon encounters in their natural habitat, along with visits to remote islands, local villages and turtle islands. Our Komodo page has the full destination guide.
From April to November, couples with more time can sail further, to Sumbawa, the Alor Archipelago and Sulawesi. These longer routes swap the best-known anchorages for quieter islands, remote villages and reefs away from the usual routes. Between June and July, and again from September to November, guests on some Alor dives are lucky enough to spot pygmy blue whales and sperm whales passing through.
In the same April to November season, your honeymoon doesn’t have to begin in Komodo. ALEXA can relocate so you start in Sumbawa or Alor instead. Relocation fees apply, and we include them in your quote.
On some voyages you can end your cruise with a drop-off in Bali or Sumba rather than sailing back to Labuan Bajo. Ask us when you enquire.

A Day on Your Floating Penthouse
There is no typical day on ALEXA, but many honeymoons fall into an easy rhythm. You might wake at anchor in a quiet bay and start with a Michelin-style breakfast on deck, then swim, snorkel or dive before the heat of the day.
Afternoons are for whatever you feel like: a walk on a pink sand beach, a spa treatment, a book in the library, or simply the sunbeds and the sea. When it is time to move on, the crew sails to the next anchorage while you rest.
As the light softens, there is sunset on the upper deck, then dinner, on board or on a beach of your own. Some nights you sleep in the cabin, others under the stars. Tomorrow is planned around you again.
Enquire NowLife on a Luxury Phinisi
ALEXA is a traditional Indonesian phinisi, a hand-built wooden sailing yacht in the style of the Bugis boatbuilders. A former cargo boat, she was transformed in 2013 into a private yacht for two, keeping her traditional lines and adding a modern, pure look.
On board, aged teak is combined with stainless steel and tinted glass. Antique art and contemporary classics sit beside silk rugs and primitive sculpture from the islands of Indonesia. The finest linens and crystal glasses complete a feeling of quiet, understated luxury.
The cabin has an en suite bathroom and a private balcony. Outside, days pass between the shaded open-air dining area, the sunbeds and the water.
ALEXA has been featured in Forbes and the Financial Times.
